புதுக்கோட்டை நகரில் வசிக்கும் நாகம்மா பாட்டி, ஏற்கெனவே தன் கணவரையும் மகனையும் இழந்து பெரும் மனத்துயரத்தைத் தாங்கிக்கொண்டிருந்தார். தனித்து விடப்பட்ட அவர், தெருக்களில் வீசப்பட்ட பழைய பாட்டில்களைச் சேகரித்து விற்று, தன் வாழ்க்கையை நடத்தி வந்தார். அவரது சிறிய ஓலைக் குடிசைதான் அவருக்கு ஒரே புகலிடமாக இருந்தது. ஆனால், விதியின் கொடூரமான விளையாட்டால், பலத்த மழையும் சூறைக்காற்றும் அதை அடித்துச் சென்றதால், அவர் முற்றிலும் வீடற்றவராகி, ஆதரவற்ற நிலையில் தவித்தார்.
எந்த நேரத்திலும் இடிந்து விழும் அபாயத்தில் இருந்த, பாழடைந்த அரசாங்கக் கட்டிடம் ஒன்றில் அவர் தஞ்சம் புகுந்திருந்ததை எங்கள் அன்னதானத் தன்னார்வலர்கள் கண்டனர். அவர் கண்ணீருடன் தனது கதையைப் பகிர்ந்துகொண்டு, தங்குவதற்கு ஒரு பாதுகாப்பான இடம் வேண்டுமெனக் கோரினார்.
அவரது அவலநிலையால் மனமுருகிய எங்கள் குழு, உடனடியாக அவரது கதையை எங்கள் யூடியூப் சேனலில் பகிர்ந்தது. அதற்கு கிடைத்த ஆதரவு ஒரு அற்புதத்திற்கு குறைவானதல்ல. மிகக் குறுகிய நேரத்தில், சுமார் 16 நல்ல உள்ளம் கொண்ட நன்கொடையாளர்கள், அவருக்கு ஒரு புதிய குடிசையை கட்டுவதற்குத் தேவையான முழுத் தொகையையும் வழங்கினர். இந்த மாபெரும் தாராள மனப்பான்மையால் உந்தப்பட்ட எங்கள் தன்னார்வலர்கள், உடனடியாக செயலில் இறங்கி, அவருக்கு ஒரு உறுதியான புதிய ஓலைக் குடிசையை மட்டுமல்லாமல், ஒரு சிறிய குளியல் இடத்தையும் கட்டிக் கொடுத்தனர்.
ஒரு சிறிய தீபாவளிப் பரிசாக, நாங்கள் அவருக்கு ஒரு புடவையை வழங்கினோம். அவர் முதன்முறையாகத் தனது புதிய வீட்டிற்குள் அடியெடுத்து வைத்ததைப் பார்த்ததுதான் எங்களால் மறக்க முடியாத தருணம். மகிழ்ச்சியாலும் நன்றியுணர்வாலும் நெகிழ்ந்துபோன நாகம்மா பாட்டியின் கண்கள் கண்ணீரால் நிரம்பின. கருணை காட்டிய நன்கொடையாளர்கள் முதல் கடினமாக உழைத்த தன்னார்வலர்கள் வரை, இதற்குக் காரணமான அனைவருக்கும் அவர் தனது மனமார்ந்த நன்றிகளை தெரிவித்தார்.
இதன் தொடர்ச்சியாக நாகம்மா பாட்டிக்கு ஒரு கட்டில், துணி மெத்தை, தலையணை, சோலார் விளக்கு, பூட்டு மற்றும் சங்கிலி போன்றவற்றை செப்டம்பர் 22ம் தேதி அன்று ஒப்படைத்தோம், மேலும் மழை நீர் குடிசையின் உள்ளே புகாத வண்ணம் கற்கள் மற்றும் மண்ணை கொண்டு நிரப்பி ஓரங்களின் உயரத்தை மலை நீர் புகாவண்ணம் அக்டோபர் 4ம் தேதி செய்து கொடுத்தோம்.
தாராளமாக நன்கொடை அளித்து, நாகம்மா பாட்டியின் வாழ்வில் மீண்டும் ஒளியேற்றிய நன்கொடையாளர்களுக்கு நன்றி. இந்த உதவியை மிக விரைவாகச் செய்து முடித்த எங்கள் அர்ப்பணிப்புள்ள தன்னார்வலர்களான திரு. சிவ ரீகன் ராஜ் மற்றும் திரு. பிச்சைமுத்து ஆகியோருக்கும் எங்கள் மனமார்ந்த நன்றிகள். உங்கள் தொடர் ஆதரவுடன், ஆலயம் செல்வீர் அறக்கட்டளையான நாங்கள், இதுபோல இன்னும் பல அழகான நம்பிக்கைக் கதைகளை உருவாக்குவோம் என்பதை உறுதியாக அறிவோம்.
After Project
In the town of Pudukkottai, Nagamma Paati had already endured the heartbreak of losing both her husband and her son. Left alone, she eked out a living by collecting and selling discarded bottles from the streets. Her small thatched hut was her only sanctuary, but in a cruel twist of fate, heavy rains and gusty winds swept it away, leaving her completely homeless and vulnerable.
Our annadhanam volunteers discovered her taking shelter in a crumbling, abandoned government building—a place so dangerously dilapidated that it threatened to collapse at any moment. With tears in her eyes, she shared her story and pleaded for a safe place to stay.
Moved by her plight, our team immediately shared her story on our YouTube channel. The response was nothing short of miraculous. In no time at all, about 16 kind-hearted donors contributed the entire amount needed to build her a new home. Fueled by this incredible generosity, our volunteers sprang into action, not only building her a sturdy new thatched hut but also a covered bathing area for her privacy and dignity.
As a small Diwali gift, we presented her with a new saree. But the most unforgettable moment was watching her step into her new home for the first time. Overcome with joy and gratitude, Nagamma Paati’s eyes filled with tears as she thanked everyone who made it possible—from the donors who showed such compassion to the volunteers who worked so hard.
As a continuation of this, on September 22nd, we provided Nagamma patti with a cot, a cloth mattress, a pillow, a solar lamp, a lock, and a chain. Furthermore, on October 4th, to prevent rainwater from entering the hut, we filled the outer edges of the hut with stones and soil and raised the height.

A special, heartfelt thanks must also go to our dedicated volunteers, Mr. Siva Reegan Raj and Mr. Pitchaimuthu, for making this happen so quickly.
